I recently needed to have surgery that put me out of commission as far as taking care of my 2 much loved horses. Does this not happen because you don't have anyone to watch over your horse? Look no further. Denise is awesome! You will have total peace of mind with your horse or horses in her hands. She is trustworthy, capable and simply a great gal to do the feedings while you're away. You don't even need to ask her how things are going because she'll text you that your precious pet is safely tucked in for the night. In 2012, my husband and I finally achieved our dream of owning a farm in southern Maine, and all was just about perfect – except for the fact that one of us always needed to be on the farm, or within close proximity, 24x7x365.
We spent our first four years here swapping off weekends to visit our families (in upstate NY) or go to alpaca shows or fairs. We didn’t even think about a vacation – and quite... frankly – travelling alone was just not as much fun. If you are reading this review, you probably know exactly what I mean!
Then in the Fall of 2016 - enter The Barn Nanny. We originally received a post card in the mail from Ms. Cameron-Dryver, describing her business and the services she offered. Intrigued, we did a little checking on the internet and discovered she had her own horses, so she we knew she wouldn’t be intimidated by large animals. And we have a “few” of those: a herd of 24 alpacas, as well as 15 chickens, 2 barn cats, and 2 bunnies. We scheduled an appointment to meet -- and were delighted!. Denise’ upbeat disposition and energetic attitude was evident from our first introductions; she seemed at home in the barn immediately, asked all the right questions, and connected with our alpacas right off-the-bat. We had a show in Syracuse coming up in a few weeks, so we decided to give The Barn Nanny a try.
Before we left, Denise crafted and shared a care plan and schedule for our farm. She also provided a contract to describe exactly what services she would be delivering while we were away. As you likely know, it is not easy to leave one’s “fur babies”, but her knowledge and attention to detail gave us confidence that we were leaving our critters in capable hands. We were not disappointed! I received morning and evening updates, via text, on all the happenings during the daily visits. We returned home to a happy barnyard – and refreshed for having a short break from the farmer’s joy - and tribulation: Eat. Farm. Sleep. Repeat.

We were able to completely relax and enjoy ourselves while we were away because Denise is so loving and conscientious with our animals.
